A Hyphen Solutions Alternative for Homebuilders: One Business System, One Record

ThreadKore is a Hyphen Solutions alternative for homebuilders who want sales, selections, estimating, purchasing, construction, native accounting and customer experience on one web-based platform and one shared record, with Orbit AI working across it. Hyphen Solutions centers on the builder–supplier connection: BuildPro for scheduling and purchase orders and SupplyPro for suppliers and trades, plus a choice of builder ERPs (BRIX, Hyphen HomeFront, BuilderGM) and separately named CRM, design, payment and AI products.

One business system vs. a supply-chain network with several ERP options

Hyphen describes BuildPro as scheduling and project management software “uniting Home Builders with their Suppliers, Manufacturers, and Trades”[3], and SupplyPro as software “designed specifically for Suppliers, Manufacturers and Trades”[4]. When Hyphen announced its BRIX acquisition in 2017, its CEO said clients had asked Hyphen to deliver solutions that meet “the entirety of software requirements of home builders, as opposed to just those that require the participation of the supply chain.”[17] Today Hyphen lists these products for builders and their suppliers[1]:

  • BuildPro: scheduling and construction management, including bids, purchase orders, inspections, warranty tasks and lien releases.[3][15] Feature areas include Warranty Management, a Homeowner Portal, and Land Management & Progress Pay.[11][12][13]
  • SupplyPro and SupplyPro GM: portals and management tools for suppliers, manufacturers and trades.[4][24]
  • BRIX: “an all-in-one cloud-based ERP solution for Home Builders” with accounting. Hyphen announced its acquisition of BRIX in February 2017.[2][17]
  • Hyphen HomeFront: a builder ERP that Hyphen describes as on-premise and that works “without replacing your existing accounting solution,” integrating with Sage 300 CRE, Sage Intacct Construction, Sage 100 Contractor, QuickBooks and Xero. Hyphen announced an agreement to acquire HomeFront Software, together with Sage distributor Zybertech, in February 2019.[1][5][19]
  • BuilderGM: project management for small to mid-sized builders, with two-way QuickBooks integration.[6]
  • Hyphen CRM and Hyphen HomeSight (online design and visualization of selections). Hyphen announced Hyphen CRM, Hyphen Wallet and SupplyPro GM as new products at IBS 2020.[7][8][23]
  • Chameleon Power: visualization technology. Hyphen announced its acquisition of Chameleon Power in February 2022.[9][20]
  • Hyphen Wallet (ePayments) and PayablesPlus (invoice capture).[10][15]
  • Dash: an AI assistant that Hyphen says is built into BuildPro, BRIX, SupplyPro GM and BuilderGM.[14][16]

Hyphen also announced the acquisition of Pharaoh Information Services, maker of the IBSWIN builder ERP, in February 2017.[18] Hyphen connects its products to each other and to outside systems. Its own FAQ says connected construction depends on scheduling, ERP + accounting and payables sharing “one data model,” that “if you already use BRIX, the connection is native,” and that for other accounting platforms Hyphen can “discuss integration paths.”[15] Hyphen has also announced partner integrations, including BuildPro with HomebuilderONE (February 2024) and HomeFront with Sage Intacct Construction through the reseller Accordant (February 2026).[21][22]

ThreadKore was built as the whole business system for a homebuilder, not around one part of it. BuildingBlocks, MyPM, theHOMESapp, Purchasing, AP Launch, ARLaunch, JobCloser and Orbit are parts of one Business Operating System, and they all write to the same System of Record. Built in-house on one database and data model. When a buyer changes a selection, the price, the purchase order and the home’s margin update in one record. Nothing has to pass between separate products.

Questions worth asking any vendor: Which product will be the system of record for budgets and job cost, and which for schedules and purchase orders? If your accounting isn’t BRIX, which integration carries POs, invoices and payments, and who supports it? How many logins will each role need?

Who should consider switching, and who shouldn’t

ThreadKore is likely a fit if

  • You want accounting, purchasing, construction and sales on one record, rather than choosing among BRIX, HomeFront or BuilderGM and connecting scheduling, payables and CRM around it.
  • Your CFO needs projected margin for each home, including the costs to build, hold and sell, plus a cash outlook tied to construction.
  • You want AI that works from your own operating and financial record (Orbit).
  • You want implementation, support and ongoing responsibilities defined clearly in your proposal.
  • You build production, semi-custom, custom, build-for-rent or build-on-your-lot homes.

Hyphen Solutions may be the better choice if

  • Hyphen’s products serve you well, and switching would cost more effort than it’s worth.
  • Your suppliers already work with you in SupplyPro and the builder–supplier order and schedule exchange is central to how you build. ThreadKore’s JobCloser serves trades and vendors; review SupplyPro connection requirements and current availability with ThreadKore.
  • You depend on electronic supplier payments (Hyphen Wallet), lien waivers tied to payments, progress-pay contracts, a bid-management portal or homebuyer visualization (HomeSight, Chameleon Power). Review these requirements and current availability with ThreadKore before switching.
  • You want to keep your current accounting system and add a builder ERP on top of it (Hyphen HomeFront). ThreadKore includes native accounting (BuildingBlocks) rather than connecting to another ledger.
  • You need a ThreadKore capability marked “coming soon” before its planned date.

Hyphen says timelines depend on scope, team capacity and data readiness, and that existing BRIX users can be enabled on Hyphen Wallet in less than 60 days[15]. Typical ERP timeline: Contact Hyphen.

Switching from Hyphen Solutions: what moves and how

Records to discuss in your migration scope

  • Opening balances, chart of accounts and the history you need for reporting
  • Active jobs, budgets and open commitments (POs, EPOs and variance POs)
  • Communities, lots, units, addresses and schedule milestones
  • Plans, options, packages and retail pricing
  • Vendors, vendor pricing, compliance documents and trade invitations (JobCloser)
  • Customers, contracts and selections on homes under construction

Your proposal defines which migration services are included or scoped separately. Hyphen lists “easy export of data” for BRIX reporting and analysis.[2] Confirm with Hyphen how exports work under your agreement, and plan with your suppliers how orders that run through SupplyPro today will reach them after cutover.

Typical steps

  1. Understand workflows and scope. Identify your builder model, active work, priorities and process owners. Agree which teams and products go first.
  2. Plan configuration and migration. Review source systems, opening balances, active jobs, vendor records and history. Agree the mapping and who prepares and checks each record.
  3. Validate data and prepare users. Reconcile agreed balances, review sample jobs and walk through key tasks with process owners.
  4. Launch and support adoption. Agree the cutover, support contacts, escalation path and adoption reviews.

Timeline: Timing depends on scope, source data and the teams going live. Your proposal sets the responsibilities, migration services, training, timing and post-launch support.

What builders say after moving to one platform

ThreadKore customers include builders who moved from Hyphen Solutions.

“By bringing every major function, from sales, purchasing, construction, finance, land development, customer care, and executive reporting under one ERP platform, we’ve created a true single source of truth for our organization.”

Eric Sanford, CEO & President
Landmark 24 Homes · Savannah, GA

“ThreadKore helped us to transform from a team who had different data sets for each department to being on the same data set in real time. ThreadKore has been instrumental in tightening our cycle time, protecting our margins, and giving us the ability to scale.”

Matt Reeves, CFO
Landmark Fine Homes · Norman, OK

“Before ThreadKore, we relied on multiple disconnected systems that created inefficiencies and made it difficult to trust our data. Today, everything—from CRM and sales to scheduling, trade allocation, accounting, and warranty—is integrated into a single platform.”

Dylan Gerard, Chief Financial Officer
Manuel Builders · Lafayette, LA

“Prior to implementing ThreadKore, we were running multiple systems that never talked to each other very well. As we started expanding into new markets, we could see the wheels were going to come off trying to maintain separate databases and platforms across each one. ThreadKore brought everything into one place and gives us a much clearer picture of what is happening across the company.”

Andy Leach, Owner
Old World Custom Homes · North Canton, OH

“Since moving to ThreadKore, we've had far more visibility into our data and processes than ever before, helping us reduce cycle times, uncover efficiencies, and gain new insights.”

Frequently asked questions

What is a good Hyphen Solutions alternative for homebuilders?

ThreadKore is a Hyphen Solutions alternative for homebuilders who want one platform and one shared record for sales, selections, estimating, purchasing, construction, native accounting and customer experience, with Orbit AI working across that record. It is built for production, semi-custom, custom, build-for-rent and build-on-your-lot builders.

How is ThreadKore different from Hyphen BRIX and BuildPro?

Hyphen Solutions centers on connecting builders with suppliers and trades: BuildPro handles scheduling and purchase orders, and SupplyPro serves suppliers. For ERP, builders choose among BRIX, Hyphen HomeFront and BuilderGM, and Hyphen adds separately named products for CRM, design visualization, payments and AI. ThreadKore runs sales, selections, purchasing, construction and BuildingBlocks native accounting as parts of one Business Operating System on one System of Record. Competitor materials use the supplied source date of October 11, 2026; confirm current details with the vendor.

Is Hyphen Solutions one product or several?

Several. Hyphen’s product catalog lists BuildPro, SupplyPro, SupplyPro GM, BRIX, Hyphen HomeFront, BuilderGM, Hyphen CRM, Hyphen HomeSight, Chameleon Power and Hyphen Wallet, and Hyphen’s Dash AI works across several of them. Some joined Hyphen through announced acquisitions: BRIX and Pharaoh Information Services (IBSWIN) in 2017, HomeFront Software and Zybertech in 2019, and Chameleon Power in 2022.

Can we move our data from Hyphen to ThreadKore?

Yes, as part of an agreed migration scope. A typical plan covers opening balances, active jobs, vendor records, communities and lots, plans and options, and the history you need for reporting. Hyphen lists data export for BRIX reporting and analysis. Confirm with Hyphen how exports work under your agreement. Your ThreadKore proposal defines what is migrated, who prepares and checks it, and how balances are reconciled.

How long does it take to switch from Hyphen to ThreadKore?

Timing depends on your scope, data and number of teams going live. Your proposal and implementation plan set the timeline, responsibilities, training and post-launch support.

Our suppliers use SupplyPro. What happens if we switch?

Your suppliers can keep using SupplyPro for other builders. For your homes, ThreadKore connects trades and vendors through JobCloser, which is free for them when the work is connected to a ThreadKore builder. Review SupplyPro or BuildPro connection requirements and current availability with ThreadKore. Bring your supplier workflow to a demo so we can show how purchase orders, schedules and invoices would reach your suppliers and what would change.

Does ThreadKore include AI?

Yes. Orbit is available today. It analyzes the connected operational and financial record so teams can investigate changes, follow a variance and compare homes or communities. Orbie supports clients. APLaunch.AI, for AI-assisted invoice preparation, is coming soon. Approvals and financial decisions stay with authorized users.

Have builders switched from Hyphen Solutions to ThreadKore?

Yes. ThreadKore works with builders who have moved from Hyphen Solutions and who now run sales, purchasing, construction and accounting on one shared record.

Who should stay on Hyphen Solutions?

Builders who are well served by Hyphen’s products may not gain enough from switching to justify the effort. That is especially true if the SupplyPro supplier network is central to how you build, if you depend on electronic supplier payments, lien waivers tied to payments, progress-pay contracts or homebuyer visualization and have not confirmed these requirements and current availability with ThreadKore, or if you want to keep your current accounting system under a builder ERP.

Is threadkore.com built and hosted on WebLaunchAI?

Yes. threadkore.com is built and hosted on WebLaunchAI, ThreadKore’s website design and hosting tool, available in beta.
